I won’t lie, it’s still a little shocking to think that I’m in my 40s!
My oldest daughter is in high school and I often still feel like I’m that same age.
But then I look at my skincare routine and realize . . . oh, I guess I am in my 40s!
I wash my face every night and every morning and here’s what I use:
(Pro tip: I wash my face hours before I go to bed – by the time 10:30 rolls around, it feels so daunting, but at 8:30 or so, I’m young and full of hope. And then with it done, it’s much easier to go to bed on time!).

Morning Skincare routine (this is the order I use them in)
- I wash my face with Dime Jelly Cleanser. I’ve been using this for more than 5 years and I love it. After a reader suggested it a few years ago, I keep it in the shower which is so convenient! My affiliate code is JANSSENB.
- Once I get out of the shower, I use these toning pads (my code is JIYUGLOW20) to get any remaining makeup or dirt off my face and help with fine lines, puffiness, and redness. I’ve been using these for about a year and I’m a huge fan!
- After toning, I use a Vitamin C serum.
- And then I finish with a moisturizer (the code is JIYUGLOW20). This is a nice thick moisturizer, but it absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy!
Night Skincare routine
- I wash my face with this exfoliating version of the face wash I use in the morning (Code is JANSSENB)
- If I feel like I still have makeup on that didn’t come off, I use this makeup remover (it’s so cheap and works like magic!). I use a reusable makeup pad to apply it.
- Then I use the same toning pads I use in my morning routine (my code is JIYUGLOW20). I want the most use out of those pads so I use it on my neck and chest and the back of my hands too. One goes a long way!
- Then another round with the Vitamin C serum.
- Once or twice a week, I use this retinol alternative instead of the vitamin C serum.
- Then I use the same moisturizer (Code is JIYUGLOW20).
- And I finish with this Blue Facial Oil (code is JANSSENB) which I absolutely swear by for helping prevent breakouts and keeping my skin soft and smooth
It takes me about 3 minutes from start to finish (and less in the morning!). When I’m in a hurry or just need simplicity, I strip my skincare routine down to these three steps (for both morning and night)
- Dime Jelly Cleanser (code is JANSSENB)
- Quick wipe down with a toning pad (my code is JIYUGLOW20)
- Moisturizer (the code is JIYUGLOW20)
And when I travel, I put those three things in these little leakproof capsules.
Any other questions about my skincare routine? I’m happy to answer!

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
